Asghar J. Fathi, born
in Tehran, Iran, developed a love for architecture when he began taking
architectural courses in High School. After graduating in 1977, he relocated
to the United States to pursue his education and fulfill his passion to
become an architect.
In 1981, Asghar
received his art degree from Houston, Texas where he was greatly influenced
by the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Five years later he obtained
his professional degree in Architecture from the School of Architecture at
Louisiana State University. During this time he interned at one of the most
dynamic/ innovative architectural firm in Baton Rouge and gained valuable
practical experience.
After graduation he moved to Miami to begin his career in
Architecture. He joined a local structural engineering firm and enjoyed
teaching as an adjunct professor for senior design classes at the School of
Architecture/ Engineering at the University of Miami and Architectural
program at the Broward Community College. Shortly after, he opened his
offices in Miami (1997) and FT. Lauderdale (1999).
His current architectural firm, Fathi Architects, Inc.,
specializes in basic - pure shape and forms and
the incorporation of the latest technology.
